ধরো একদিন ঘুম ভেঙ্গে দেখলে
তোমার আশে পাশে কিংবা এই শহর,এই ধরাতলে কোথাও আমি নেই,
তোমার সাজানো গোছানা বিছানা অলস পড়ে আছে,
আলমারি,ড্রয়ার,বুক সেলফ সব আগের মতোই
শুধু কোথাও আমি নেই|
তখন তুমি কি খুব অস্থির হবে,চোখে মুখে জল কি একাকার হবে?
এদিক ওদিক ছুটোছুটি করে হন্য হয়ে কি খুঁজবে আমায়?
নাকি হতাশ হয়ে থানা পুলিশের কাছে কি ছুটবে তখন|
ধরো একদিন বিকেলে মেলায় গেলাম
তোমার হাতে শক্ত করে ধরে
হঠাৎ ভীড়ের যাতাকলে হাত যদি ছুটে যায়
হারিয়ে যাই যদি তখন অজানায়
তুমি কি তখন খুঁজবে আমায়
তুমি কি পাগল হয়ে আকাশ পাতাল এক করবে
অশ্রুসজল চোখে কি অপেক্ষায় রবে?
হন্য হয়ে পথে পথে কি দৌড়াবে,
নাকি সব ভুলে অন্য কারো হাত ধরবে |
ধরো একদিন সন্ধ্যায় আর হলো না ফেরা ঘরে আমার
একদিন দুদিন করে বছর গেলো
আমি আর এলাম না ফিরে
তুমি কি তখন প্রতিক্ষায় রবে
কাদঁবে কি তখন তুমি মধ্যরাতে আমার অভাবে
নাকি সব ভুলে
অন্য কারো বুকে মাথা রেখে
সুখের ঘুম দেবে|

Imagine
Imagine, one fine morning you wake up
Not to find me by your side,
Nowhere on earth can you trail me,
Still prim and proper is your clean bed,
Cupboard, drawer, bookshelf arranged,
Only I am missing out!
Will you be on edge then, shedding tears profusely?
Will you make a frantic search, moving from earth to heaven?
Bewildered, will you seek the help from the police?

Suppose we went to a fair one afternoon,
Your hands however tightly held
Slipped off from mine for
The pressure of the crowd,
Suddenly we come off,
Will you try to rejoin?
Will you ransack the earth and heaven?
Wait for me in tearful eyes,
Run desperately to get me
Or then again overlooking everything
You will hold someone’s hand.

Say, one night I didn't return home,
One day, two days, the year cruised by,
However, I failed to turn up.
Will you keep waiting for me?
Will you weep at night by losing me?
Or putting aside all the memories
You will sleep happily resting
Head on somebody's chest.
