Mahin Alam's Bengali poem translated into English:

কোন একদিন তুমি কোলাহল থামিয়ে দিলে নিস্তব্ধতা গ্রাস করবে আমাদের ব্রহ্মাণ্ড জুড়ে ।
তোমার প্রিয়জন জপ করবে তোমাকে আজ যারা তোমার কোলাহলে অবসন্নতার বীজ বুনে নিজ কোনে পরবাসী হয়ে আছে।
অন্ধকারের অলিন্দে আজ যারা আত্মা সঁপে দিয়ে আকাশ ভুলে গেছে;
স্পন্দমান জীবনে যাদের ক্লান্তি ভর করে দেহে।
পাখীর কাকলি আজ যাদের অসহ্য বলে বাতায়ন বন্ধ করে পড়ে আছে এক রাশ নেতিয়ে পড়া উন্মুলিত বৃক্ষের মত ।
শুধু তোমার ভালবাসাই একদিন ঘুরে বেড়াবে এই মৃত শহরে সেই সব চুপসে থাকা বুকে একটু স্বস্তির প্রাণবায়ুু ফুঁকে দিতে।

If one day you stop making a fuss,
Silence will weigh on the whole universe.
Your loved ones who have withdrawn,
Sowing the seeds of stillness in your commotion,
Will do their prayer and penance for you.

Those who went to the hover of haziness,
forgot the sky, overloaded with weariness.
As the chirping of birds nauseates,
They shut up all the windows.
Being in a stuffy room, they feel
like a sagging uprooted tree.

Only your love will survive that day
to promenade in this dead city.
It is your adoration that will inflate
The air in those flattened chests,
To bring them back to life!
