Zereen Mosfeqa's Bengali poem, "Opar Pratiksha" translated into English:

নিঃশ্বাসের দূরত্বে তুমি নেই।
স্পর্শের বৃত্তে তুমি নেই।
অলিন্দের আজীবন দখল তোমার,
পরিত্রাণ পাব, আশা নেই আমার।
তবু আছো জ্যোৎস্নার ছায়া হয়ে,
শুভ্র কাশবন মায়া হয়ে,
কৈশোরের রঙিন এক ভুল হয়ে,
অজানিত তপস্যার ফুল হয়ে।
যুগ যুগ বিরহের রেশ টানি।
রাজত্ব হৃদগৃহে খুব জানি।
স্মৃতির আলাপনে দিন গুনি
বিরহী রাতে নোনা নির্ঝরিনী।
আসবে কি মায়া আলপথ বেয়ে?
অনাবাদী সিঁথির সিঁদুর হয়ে!
ভুলচুক সকল নিলাম তুলে
রোদেলা এ মন নেবে করতলে!

A long wait

You are too far to feel my breath,
A long way past the hovering of my touch,
You are the long-term tenant of my headset,
I have no way of disposing of you.
Yet you exist as the evening shadow,
Wearing the delicacy of the 'kash' white plant,
A nice overview of my puberty,
Like the flowers of obscure penance.
For a long time, I shot the separation pains,
Knowing that I reign in my heart.
I count the days by trading with memories,
Being sick of love, I turn into a saline river at night.
Will you come back along the trail above the ridge?
Being the vermilion on the barren tiara,
Ignore and forgive each of my nonsense,
Okay, take my radiating heart in your palms!
