ওভাবে যেতে নেই, বলতে নেই বিদায়
ওভাবে বললে পৃথিবীটা ফ্ল্যাশব্যাকে চলে যায়
-আঙুলের ফাঁক গলে পালিয়ে যায় রোদ্দুর।
ওভাবে যেতে নেই
করতে নেই বিরুদ্ধচারণ
ওভাবে একরোখা হলে বিষুবরেখার জমে ক্লান্তি
আড়ষ্ট হয় উত্তরের মেঘমালা।
ওভাবে যেতে নেই
লুকোতে নেই অশ্রুসজল চোখ
ওভাবে কাঁদলে বুকের পাঁজর পিষ্ট হয়
ভেঙে যায় ইমারত, রাস্তা হারায় ভবঘুরে প্রেমিক।
ওভাবে যেও না আজ
বলো না রুক্ষ কোন কথা, বাড়িও না বিবাদ
ওভাবে ছুঁড়ে ফেললে অতীত, প্রেম বিভ্রান্ত হয়,
একাকী শরতবেলায় নেমে আসে দুঃখ।
ওভাবে ঢেকো না বুকের ক্ষত
নিঃসঙ্গ আকাশে ছুঁড়ে দিও না অভিমান
ওভাবে রক্তাক্ত হলে মহাকাল ফিরে যায় শূন্যে
অনিশ্চিত হয়ে যায় সভ্যতার গতিপথ।
ওভাবে যেতে নেই
বলতে নেই 'এই তব শেষ দেখা! '
ওভাবেই যাবে না তুমি
বলবে না, "ভালো থেকো, আসি!"
সমস্ত শরত বিকেল নিলামে যাবে
বাজিকর পোড়াবে একশ তেত্রিশটি কবিতা
ওভাবে চলে গেলে
মেরু ঝড়ে দিক হারাবে হাজার খানেক যুদ্ধ জাহাজ
ইউফ্রেটিস অববাহিকায় ঘূর্ণিঝড়
পুনর্বার জন্ম নেবে অরোরা বোরেলিস দক্ষিণ সমুদ্রে!

Be careful how you go

You should not leave saying goodbye.
The world turns around in a flashback,
The sun sifts through my fingers, you know.
Do not go away in that manner,
Never show your tantrum either,
If you are stiff-headed,
The equator does not turn on,
The billows of the north pack.
Try not to leave this way,
Do not try to hide your sad eyes,
Your chest will crash,
The buildings collapse,
The drifter lover loses his course.
Try not to abandon me,
No more rude words or fighting,
If you turn away from the past, love surprises,
Distress envelops the desolate autumn.
Never cover the damage to your heart
By rejecting your feeling
In the lonely sky,
Eternity retrieves in space
To see you bleed,
The course of civilization also falters.
Do not let me sit unhindered,
Never say, "This is our last meeting,"
You should not leave saying:
"Stay well, I'll come back."
The whole autumn night is going to be sold,
The bidders burn one hundred and thirty-three poems,
If you abandon me this way,
Warships will lose direction
Because of the polar storm,
The tornado in the Euphrates basin,
The Aurora Borealis will emerge
Dancing on the South Sea once again.
