Ovin's Bengali poem translated into English:

আমার ঝুল বারান্দায় হঠাৎ ছারপোকার সাথে দেখা,
আমুদে অলসতায় বিষন্ন রোদ গায়ে মাখছে। দড়িতে রাখা শুকনো কাপড়ের কড়া ঘ্রাণ নাকে লাগছে খুব,
কাকের কালো ডানায় উড়ো খবর, কোথায় যেন
"নাগরিক তুমি" এসেছো এই ঘরে, তন্নতন্ন করে চিহ্ন খুঁজেছি অনেক, পাইনি। ভুলোমনে সামনে তাকাতেই পুরনো বইয়ের তাকে বর্তমান এসে দাঁড়িয়েছে। ভুল ভাঙ্গলো মা'এর ডাকে, খেতে ডাকছে। আজ আরেকটি সতেরো'ই আশ্বিন, আরেকটি মানিয়ে নেয়া দুপুর...//

I went over the bugs in my veranda,
Lounging were those bugs in the melancholic sun,
In an energetic and slow form.
The strong smell of dry clothes hanging down the line
Irritated my nostrils,

The rumor spread over the dark wings of the crows,
‘You the city dweller' ventured into this room,
I could not follow you despite my berserk look.
With a grumpy personality while I wait with impatience,

I turn directly to the shelves.
I was disillusioned when my mother called me for lunch.
It's still the seventeen of 'Aswin',
I am used to another noon....
