কোনো এক নদী ~
আমি বেদনার কাছে এতোটা চাইনি
বৃষ্টি যতোটা চাইতে পারে মেঘের কাছে,
আমি চাঁদের কাছে অতোটা চাইনি
জোছনা যতোটা চাইতে পারে পূর্ণিমার কাছে,
আমি সূর্যের কাছে অতোটা চাইনি
বৃক্ষ যতোটা চাইতে পারে রোদের কাছে,
শুধু এক টুকরো সময়ের সন্ধি চেয়ে
বৈরি হলাম আমি অনন্তের কাছে,
অথচ রোজ রোজ অপচয়ের ডালিতে
জমেছে যুগান্তর, জমেছে তাবৎ অর্ঘ্য,
শুকিয়ে যাওয়া ফুলগুলো সব
না পেলো জল, না পেলো কিয়দ কবরীর ছল;
তোমাদের সকল ক্ষোভ, সকল বিক্ষোভ,
এই বুকে বহতা নিরন্তর
সুরমা ধলেশ্বরী মাতামুহুরির ছলাৎছল!
ভাবছো, ভালোবাসার ছবিটা -
হবার কথা ঠিক এমনই বিরহকাতর,
ম্রিয়মান বেদনার জলরঙ, অবিকল!

Every One River

I have not requested so much of the soreness
As the rain can call for from the cloud,
I did no longer ask a lot of the moon
As the evening glow can ask.
Nor did I beg the sun to shower the beams
So much as the trees can cajole the daylight,

Begging for a time treaty
I grow to be a villain till eternity,
In the trash can
Deposit each of the values,
All the withered flowers get
Neither water nor the trick of the bun;

All your remorse, all dissatisfaction,
Flow constantly through this heart,
Surprise the Surma, Dhaleswari, and Matamuhuri!
You hold questioning if the love scenario
Should come to be in parting,
Like the hazy watercolor of the torment!
