মধ্যরাতের উপাখ্যান
এখন মধ্যরাত।
বিছানায় শুয়ে রাতের তিমিরে হাতড়ে খুঁজি আকাশ,নীলিম বরণ চোখ।
স্পর্শ পায় শুধু আদিম উৎস অন্ধকার!
বিচুর্ণ মেঘের মত অন্ধকার!
এখন মধ্যরাত।
বিছানায় শুয়ে দূর সমুদ্রের গাড় কন্ঠস্বর শুনি,
প্রগলভ হাওয়ায় ভেসে আসে অনির্বাচিত করুণ নিষাদ!
অন্তহীন বেদনাবিধুর সে সুর!
এখন মধ্যরাত।
বিছানায় শুয়ে ভাবি স্মরনাতীত জীবন!
ঈশানকোণী ঝড় এসে কেড়ে নিলো জলের নিকেতন!
সে জল কুয়াশার চেয়েও অন্তহীন!

The Midnight Story

It's midnight..
Lying on the bed, I grope the bluish sky in darkness,
Get in touch with the raw source of the night,
Looking as murky as the pounded clouds.

It is the time of extraordinary darkness.
I sit back in bed and hear the thunder of the distant ocean,
The unelected pathetic fowler floats with the sparkling breeze.
The melody is infinite and painful.

It is the middle of the night.
Reclining in bed, I look at the immemorial life!
The storm from the northeast takes away the watery abode,
That water is way more limitless than the fog!
