We must pay much more attention,
Unto the things that we have heard;
Lest we drift from the retention,
Any time we slip from the Word.

For since the message is declared,
By angels proved reliable;
Transgression and revolting shared,
Can never be deniable.

Misconduct needs retribution,
Just recompence of a reward;
Deserving of persecution,
As the verdict comes from the Lord.

How to escape if we neglect,
With such a great a salvation;
First the Lord that we would reject,
Allowing sinful temptation.

It was first declared by the Lord,
While God bore witness by signs;
Various miracles ignored,
Much of which religion declines.

Attested by those who have heard,
Gifts came through the Holy Spirit;
Granted to His will in the Word,
Unto us that we inherit.
