Beside being wise you were taught,
Knowledge to weigh on the subject;
Many of the Proverbs must be sought,
With great care on what you have picked.

You have to find words of delight,
On what is written of the truth;
And that are sacredly upright,
Without pride or sounding uncouth.

The words of the wise are like goads,
And like nails that are firmly fixed;
Collected sayings on straight roads,
That are never twisted or mixed.

They are given by one Shepherd,
Weariness to read many books;
Those from the Son gives the true Word,
Rather than the flesh that one looks.

The whole matter all has been heard,
Keep the commandments and fear God;
The duty of man is in the Word,
Worship as you honor and laud.

For God will bring up every kind,
To judgment of all secret things;
Regardless good or evil bind,
The Lord will judge what the past brings.
