You are of a chosen race,
Of a royal priesthood;
And of a heavenly place,
That has been misunderstood.

Proclaim the excellencies,
For those of His possession;
That have been dependencies,
Who from a holy nation.

Called from out of the darkness,
Into His marvelous light;
Purified from your starkness,
And given of His insight.

Once you were not a people,
But now you belong to God;
Assemble in His temple,
To worship, honor and laud.

Before you had no mercy,
Now you have mercy and grace;
Before blind but now you see,
Love giving you, His embrace.
