We have an obligation,
To bear failings of the weak;
Help them build their foundation,
To live for Christ as they seek.

Each of us please your neighbor,
Building them up for their good;
In their labor and leisure,
Their confidence as they should.

For Christ did not Himself please,
The reproaches fell on Him;
It was for them to achieve,
Building their spiritual vim.

What was written in the past,
Was written for instruction;
Through endurance that would last,
Preventing their destruction.

May the God of endurance,
Grant you the encouragement;
To live in perseverance,
Never to have discouragement.

Together you glorify,
The Father of our Lord;
With one voice to amplify,
That He is loved and adored.
