Do not overlook this one thing,
One day is as a thousand years;
A thousand years one day may bring,
Letting the Lord to calm your fears.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill,
His promise to count as slowness;
But your faith and hope to instill,
Your patience to produce lowness.

But it’s longsuffering to us,
Not wishing that none should perish;
All should reach repentance as thus,
For eternal life to cherish.

For the Lord shall come like a thief,
As Heaven will pass with a roar;
Those shall perish having disbelief,
As those with faith see their Savior.

The earth shall melt with fervent heat,
His works that are done are exposed;
Although everything will deplete,
The Lord assures will be proposed.

Since all of this to be dissolved,
What sort of people ought you be;
A life of holiness evolved,
Godliness for the Lord to see.

Waiting to hasten for the Lord,
As Heaven is set on fire;
Fervent heat that can’t be ignored,
Melting to burn your desire.

But according to His promise,
We are waiting for the new earth;
Where righteousness dwells with justice,
That a new Heaven given birth.
