True Fasting

(9 views)0
Is not this the fast that I choose,
To undo the straps of the yoke;
The bonds of wickedness to lose,
That the restraints that has been broke.
To share your bread with the hungry,
Bring the homeless into your house;
Being cheerful and not angry,
When you disagree with your spouse.
Clothe another when they’re naked,
Modesty of the flesh to hide;
Give them a towel after wetted,
Hospitality to provide.
Then shall the light break forth at dawn,
Healing shall spring up speedily;
Your righteousness shall not be gone,
Breakfast to serve diligently.
Glory of the Lord be your guard,
And He will answer when you call;
He will bless you with a reward,
Bonds are removed as a cure-all.
The yoke has been taken away,
No longer speaking vanity;
Not ever be going astray,
Always helping humanity.
