God Our Refuge

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble;
To persevere at any length,
And pulling us from the rubble.

I will fear not though the earth quake,
The mountains move into the sea;
I am vigilant and awake,
Knowing the Lord will protect me.

Though the waters may roar and foam.
The mountains tremble and might swell;
No matter where the waves may roam,
I remain steadfast where I dwell.

There’s a river whose streams make glad,
The Holy dwelling of the Lord;
As the people come are not sad,
And show He is loved and adored.

God is in her midst and not moved,
Rising up at the morning dawn;
He is aware and is behooved,
Ensuring the darkness is gone.

The nations rage as kingdoms rock,
God’s voice utters as the earth fades;
The righteous are able to walk,
As the sound of evil evades.

The Lord of Hosts remains with us,
The God of Jacob a fortress;
Kept to be a refuge as thus,
Especially when in distress.
