Let everyone be quick to hear,
Slow to anger and slow to speak;
Approaching God to revere,
Exploring of His Word to seek.

The wrath of man does not produce,
Any righteousness of the Lord;
It’s merely darkness to seduce,
And the Father will be ignored.

So lay apart all filthiness,
Which is able to save your soul;
Avoiding of the naughtiness,
That Satan attempts to control.

Receive with meekness of the Word,
But not just hearers as doers;
Avoid deception that is heard,
By also being pursuers.

Look intently in the mirror,
If the reflection is your own;
If the image is not clearer,
It could be a devilish clone.

You see yourself and go away,
And forgetting to what you saw;
The scars remain when you did stray,
Disregarding the perfect Law.

The perfect Law of liberty,
Preserves a doer who will do;
Receives blessings for purity,
Since the hearer wants to pursue.

If you think you are religious,
But forgets to bridle the tongue;
He’s vain to be prestigious,
Deceptive words always are flung.

Pure religion is undefiled,
Keeping oneself as unblemished;
With the Lord be reconciled,
And the Father to be cherished.
