Be gracious to me, O God,
Because man tramples on me;
All day long they have trod,
Oppressed and want to be free.
My foes trample all day long,
Many foes swallow me up;
I am weak but they are strong,
They put poison in my cup.
I have put my trust in you,
Because of being afraid;
Knowing You’re faithful and true,
Able to render me aid.
In God, I will praise Your Word,
Because I have put my trust;
My emotions You have stirred,
Knowing You are fair and just.
