Is anyone suffering?
Let them call on God in prayer;
For Christ will be buffering,
For the reason that they share.

Is there anyone cheerful?
Then let them be singing praise;
Be glad they are not tearful,
Thanking the Lord in all ways.

Is anyone amongst you ill?
Call the elders of the church;
Pray and anoint with oil,
To the Lord for cure to search.

A prayer of faith saves the sick,
Forgiven if caused by sin;
Aiding in getting well quick,
Confession cleanses within.

Confess faults to each other,
So that you may become healed;
Praying for one another,
So that the sin is repealed.

Power in prayer for the righteous,
Fervent prayer has much avail;
When wrong, it seeks out justice,
Where the human thoughts would fail.

Elias was a man fervently,
He prayed that it might not rain;
Over three years vacantly,
The ground was feeling the pain.

He prayed for rain to arrive,
The earth then had brought forth fruit;
As the ground returned to thrive,
Replenished trees of its root.
