I thank the Lord who gave me strength,
Appointing me to His service;
To persevere at any length,
Judged me faithful having trueness.

Before I was a blasphemer,
Ignorantly in unbelief;
Opponent and persecutor,
The mercy of Christ gave relief.

The grace of the Lord overflowed,
The faith and love that are in Christ;
While it had His glory glowed,
Showed me why He was sacrificed.

This is a faithful saying of trust,
Deserving of full acceptance;
By saving sinners from their lust,
With salvation the assurance.

I have mercy for this reason,
And that in me as the foremost;
Satan considers it treason,
I have joined the heavenly host.

Christ displays His perfect patience,
As a case for eternal life;
A method of obedience,
From long-suffering of the strife.

Unto the King of the ages,
Honor and glory forever;
The only God that engages,
Of a love that will not sever.
