O Lord you have searched and known me,
You know when I sit and rise up;
You discern my thoughts as You see,
When I drink coffee from my cup.

You search out my pathways I take,
My lying down and acquainted;
Of the direction for Your sake,
Blocking the thoughts that are tainted.

Even before words on my tongue,
O Lord, You know it together;
That my breath allowed to have flung,
You bring forth form that they gather.

You hem my past and my future,
Laying your hand upon my form;
As Your child and new creature,
Comforting me to make me warm.

Such knowledge is too wonderful,
It is too high for to attain;
Knowing You being so powerful,
I allow You my soul remain.
