A car is only ever as good 
As the parts one puts within~
To not be a person of ones
word
I see that in life as if a sin~
As a boy my father installed
in me
His principles and old school
value~
His stamina and integrity I
took on board
And they became myself
right through~
But living by ones values to
the letter
Is in life a task all on it's
own~
The greater amount do
not have any at all
Leaving a good is a soul
standing all alone~
I have lost money on a
handshake
That I sometimes gave on
the day~
And I would do it every
time the same
As thanks to my Dad that's
the way I stay~
I have been called stupid
before in life
In fact more than a few
times~
But I have a higher within
that
Rules my being and my
dignity ever fine~
I would say that if had to I
would die
To protect my Dads values
within~
As to not be as life's
values ask
I honestly see it as if being
as if sin~
One can lie to any soul in
life
But one cannot lie to ones
self it's so~
And if one has no values
at all
All I can say is .. There
you go~
It's not easy to retain
ones values
It's harder than any
can know unless~
They themselves that
have values deep within
A lot more would not
ever confess~
I after giving my very
absolute word
And I'll continue to do
same again~
You either have them
or you don't
In times of sunshine
and in times of rain~
It comes down to what
one does think
Of themselves deeply
within~
But not to be a soul of
values
I sincerely see it as if
being a sin~
A soul without any values
can
enjoy life as I often wished
I could~
It has the ability to render
one lonely
And not to enjoy life in life
as one should~
