ONE LITTLE SHELL

One small shell upon a beach
Amongst all there that be ~
There in all its natural glory
Washed up by the sea~

This shell wouldn't know
As it lay among all that be~
It plays an important part
In all things by the sea~

This shell would never cry out
Its the only one that's there~
It wouldn't say it was intelligent
That it alone was beyond compare~

Behind all planets n stars we know
In our massive space backyard~
To even feel we are the only ones
Is to swallow slightly hard~

Some say that they know God
If do than he is not so great~
It'd be beyond comprehension
We've not scratched the slate~

There is out there unknown to us
Planets n life we've not yet found~
Its common sense within my mind
We've not begin to cover ground~

But I do believe that in space
Things we know not as we say ~
First tidy up our own backyard
Before searching on any day~

If earth it was a property
And left in charge to maintain~
And as if God returned to inspect
We'd be all out of work in the rain~

Humans are as but a little shell
On life's beach but we should know~
Getting too far ahead of ourselves
Need to go back a century or so~

Money on earth has became God
And too few ever stop to think~
That out there is one great rock
That could pull us all up in a wink~

As if God would be so greater
Beyond comprehension its true~
And if so would be disgusted in
All or most on earth that we do~

Time to go back for a change
Show love care integrity too~
Capable of undoing whats been done
And all human kind not just a few~

Spend the large dollar amounts
Getting earth where it used to be~
Babbling water brooks air so fresh
And many more a forest of tree~

We earth should take a leaf from
Little beach shell doing its thing~
Only professing to be what it is
And maybe earth again might sing~
