THE QUIET SUNFLOWER

We stopped for a moment in a little valley…with mountains all around.
We found her standing tall and strong…anchored to the ground.
She spoke not a word to anyone yet her message was sure to reach us….
This quiet sunflower, like the rest of nature…has so much she can teach us.
She can teach us to sew seeds of happiness…to keep our heads held high.
She can teach us life is beautiful…how we should try to touch the sky.
She can teach us how to grow with dignity…and how with the world we interface.
She can teach us to grow wherever life plants us…to bloom…and bloom with grace…
She can teach us how our roots are important…and even though we’re here but for a short while
She can teach us that beauty stems from joy and happiness and never goes out of style.
She can teach us how to dance in the sun…how every thing has worth
that if we’re nurtured loved and and urged along we add our beauty to this Earth…
So here’s to the quiet sunflower…
reminding us to turn our faces toward the sun
reminding us to believe in miracles…
for she is surely one.
