How things over time change
No Wordsworth's any more
Though many try can't deny
Now what was has been saw

Poetry's become a lot of now
Poetic pretenders of long ago
While the earth suffers daily
Writing lots imaginations grow

Poetry can be a powerful tool
If honesty values integrity rides
With those of poetry and prose
And today's thoughts and strides

So much changed and rearranged
I've written since I was but sixteen
And always with wisdoms available
The honest truth and no in betweens

So much never wanted to be heard
Or never wanted to face eye to eye
Souls owned by religions politics
Using half a brain we wonder why

But they strive to be dead poets
Then writing of a world they knew
None of which any soul knows today
But living one day at a time it's true

If humans as a race could embrace
To as one simply being a good soul
Then poetry in all honest simplicity
Might have a chance as days of old
