Is not the fast I choose,
To break the evil chains;
Untie the yoke that glues,
For torment and pains.

Set the oppression free,
Tear off every yoke;
Clothe the naked to be,
Give your garb as a cloak.

Those who hunger give bread,
Bring the poor to your home;
Nourishing to be fed,
From the distance they roam.

Then your light will appear,
Brighter than morning dawn;
Knowing the Lord is near,
Soon evil will be gone.

Your righteousness will show,
Glory will be your guard;
Insight given to know,
Salvation your reward.

When you call on the Lord,
He speaks when you cry out;
Your request not ignored,
You should not have a doubt.

He rids the yoke on you,
Ridicule and insults;
Mockery that pursue,
From oppressive results.

Satisfy affliction,
Offer those who hunger;
Their guilt of addiction,
Confessing their anger.

In darkness your light shines,
Your night as noonday sun;
As it breaks all the vines,
Strength from the Holy One.

The Lord always leads you,
Satisfies in your land;
Strengthens as you pursue,
Rescues from sinking sand.

Like a watered garden,
Whose water never runs dry;
Protects from the harden,
Will take you up on high.
