NOT HIS TO HAVE

He met her one day in passing was to be
He knew from that second on eyes and smile
There was nothing on earth he would'nt do
For her he'd walk on knees many a mile

When she came in she lit the room brightly
She knew too so well how she made him feel
Looking forward to her dropping in was he
Regardless of anything for him this was real

But then one day out of the blue that smile
It simply seem to go away he never had a clue
What the reason was ot what it could be
Unknowing what had this be or of it what to do

He knew at best it could only ever be if at all
An unknown friendship as it was for ages
The book of life had flipped a chapter new
And turned suddenly at once too many pages

But life it has its natural changes in the weather
And She after all said and dome as it had been
She was not his to have not even in a secret kept
But in life he thought maybe a daytime dream

Passing moments can be something more
But that being is very rare so very true
And greater things some might have recieved
If ever of these moments any souls they knew

But rest assure in life to open this door
He knew she was not his to have if at all
So much like a stronger breeze within a tree
Another leaf in life it seemed was to fall
