So much in life I guess we all take for granted
Little things in life telling us how blessed we are
Comes a time in life something simply reminds us
How soul depth little things guide us ever far

During something we in life are doing in a moment
A reality pulls us up and has us stop and to think
Of something we all at times take for granted
A flashing as if thought that turns up as we blink

One thing that after living my entire life almost
Stops me and has myself think of a little thing
Some way more important than life it's self often
Like while doing something I hear my wife sing

She has a beautiful softest voice it's ever so
And she loves to sing and at times plays guitar
I stop I listen and I appreciate that very sound
How often her singing takes me away so very far

I've always been a boss a contractor a hard worker
And way harder on myself in life than others true
Always expected more of myself all values intact
Made more over my life than most would like to do

Did everything as perfect as able over all my time
Never been in a gym but fit as any come what may
Never shy of hard work through all my life time
Reason why I am pretty much the same even today

But now and then I'm reminded of lifes rewards
That being as I've always been lifes karma brings
Nothing stops me like looking back with no regrets
When I hear my wife doing something as she sings
