As Close To Heaven On Earth As I've Been

Since I was raised in my own family
Things being then as they long ago were-
My mother never really loved my father
And my father simply totally adored her-

Since back then I've searched for peace of mind
And love that was real and ever so very true-
I after all this time in my life I've found it
And appreciate it how endlessly I do-

I am finally in a place hard for me to describe
It's as close to heaven upon earth as I've ever been
And here I shall remain for the rest of my life
After almost the entire earth I've known and seen-

I live my life right now in the Philippines
With my much loved soul mate my very own wife-
Where I experience all forms of real true love
Every day and never any pain as such or strife-

They are all here as Jesus asked us all to be
And personnel wealth often comes very last-
With very little they do way so much more
And look forward with love and not the past-

I've lived my life with its ongoing confusion
As lifes teacher would have had me do-
I've done my best to pass his every single test
Walk his line of teaching almost right through-

I feel within my heart that this is my reward
For a life I do not know in any way regret
As it all got me right to where I am right now
Deeply in real love with peace of mind I'm set .

I now every single day I can come what may
Show deeply in heart I am of peace of mind-
And every day I silently in my own way pray
giving thanks for a life I've now left behind-

It got me to where I am right now at this moment
I know I had to live that to appreciate this so-
And I am and always will be all I can
To give thanks and to her all my love to show-

One has to do ones learning through life before
One gets to know of life it's hardships han in glove-
And it's only university life that taught me well
I now know and possess real peace of mind and love –
