I charge you in front of the Lord,
Who will judge the living and dead;
By His appearing to afford,
In preaching so others are fed.

Preach the Word ready in season,
With complete patience in teaching;
Exhort in the doctrine reason,
To coincide with your preaching.

For the time comes they won’t endure,
And having itching of the ears;
For temptations have no known cure,
For the passionate lusts one fears.

They shall turn away from the truth,
Stray off into myths and fables;
Being enticed by the uncouth,
In which a moral disables.

Be sober-minded and endure,
Suffering from the afflictions;
Fulfill your ministry to cure,
Temptations from the addictions.

For I am already poured out,
As a drink offering at this time;
It is departure time no doubt,
I must prepare to make the climb.

Because I have fought the good fight,
Kept the faith to finish the race;
Remaining to be God’s delight,
Continued flowing of His grace.

A crown of righteousness awaits,
The righteous judge who is the Lord;
On that day awards at the gates,
Since I have been in one accord.
