Behold for the day is coming,
And be burning like an oven;
The arrogant are succumbing,
Evildoers who are sloven.

For they will stutter and stumble,
On the day setting them ablaze;
For all roots and branches crumble,
Because of all their wicked ways.

Those who fear the name of the Lord,
The sun of righteousness shall rise;
With healing wings in one accord,
Leaping like calves within your eyes.

For you shall tread the wicked down,
They’ll be ashes under your feet;
The Lord will bless you with a gown,
On that day offer you a seat.

Think of His Law as His servant,
The statutes and rules commanded;
Within your prayers always fervent,
Remember what God demanded.

The Lord will send you a prophet,
Before that great and awesome day;
With salvation you inherit,
As a reward since you obey.

He turns the heart of the child,
Unto the heart of their father;
He finds that love has beguiled,
Of a kinship to go farther.

Lest the Lord comes and smite the land,
With a degree of destruction;
As a means that will reprimand,
Unto His Word His instruction.
