A TRUSTING SOUL
I'd always rather be a trusting soul
I'd rather believe what people say
As I myself have always been honest
And speak truth come what may
They do not have to agree with me
To be right but I am always true
And I give and expect respect until
I find they think not as in life I do
Once they prove to think I'm eight eggs
In their dozen that's it as never again
No second chances are given in any way
Come sunshine or a fine day hail or rain
Old school attitudes values integrities
Have for some time died and gone away
They do still live healthy within my soul
Will do so until my very one day dying day
But once any treat me as if their fool
I burn that bridge and keep it in mind
For my sake I forgive but never forget
And that's the way I am always you'll find
