The Mother Goose Rhymes are examples of Folk Literature that are written for children, or the leaders of tomorrow. Subexamples of these nursery rhymes include but are not limited to "The Bear Went Over The Mountain" and "The Man In The Moon (Came Down Too Soon). Repetition is one of the rhetorical devices that the author has inserted in these chants. This literary element creates a rhythm that would make it easier for the kids or anyone else to sing, play, clap to, and/or otherwise make melody in their hearts. Furthermore, this repetitive language contributes to the overall effect of the poems by helping the youngsters to understand the meanings of the compositions at large.
