To further your happiness
Or fill an emptiness of soul
Either love me unconditionally
Respect my uniqueness
(Which you eternally mock)
Or leave me the hell alone.
I’m not interested in your quest
Of ego fulfillment
Count me out
(You already have)
Grab your golden ring
For I’m searching for enlightment
Far deeper than vacuous celebrity.
I could care less about fame
I wanna leave behind a legacy
(It doesn’t have to be so grand)
You can make excuses
Of how you’re incapable
It’s all a ruse
To garner sympathy
When was the last time you felt empathy?
Which didn’t involve an agenda?
Rejection
Disappointment
A fact of life
You can’t buy happiness
(I tried that and failed)
Or eliminate humanity’s strife
But jealous envy only suffocates
Instead of promoting creativity.
If you can’t handle criticism
Then you proved my hypothesis
A narcissist indeed
As the gulf between optimism
Reality
Cynicism
Misanthropy grows larger.
