Thanksgiving

I thank the Lord to whom I serve,
The same as did my ancestors;
A clear conscience that gives the nerve,
Avoid temptation that pesters.
As I remember you constantly,
Within my prayers both day and night;
Remembering tears blatantly,
So that you be filled with delight.
Your sincere faith I remember,
A faith that dwelt with your mother;
That I am sure to encumber,
Speaking the Word to another.
I remind you for this reason,
Fan the flame of the gift from God;
Which is in you through this season,
The laying on my hands to laud.
God gave a spirit not of fear,
Rather of love and self-control;
The power in being sincere,
A conscience for guiding your soul.
So therefore, do not be ashamed,
The testimony of the Lord;
Share in suffering as proclaimed,
That the Gospel is not ignored.
He called us to holy calling,
Saved not because of our deeds;
Rather grace from our falling,
Before the age that Christ succeeds.
But is now to manifest,
Through the appearing of Christ;
Abolished death being professed,
Brought us life for being enticed.
I was appointed a preacher,
Which is the reason I suffer;
As an apostle and a teacher,
Showing how Jesus will buffer.
But I can never be ashamed,
For I know whom I have believed;
And convinced as I have proclaimed,
Guard against not to be deceived.
