A Plea for Victory

My heart is steadfast, O God,
I sing and make melody;
While I honor and laud,
To make a new rhapsody.

Awake psaltery and harp,
For I will awake at dawn;
As joys comes out from the heart,
After the night has been gone.

I give thanks to You, O Lord,
While singing praises to You;
Remaining in one accord,
Knowing that my faith is true.

For I know Your steadfast love,
Faithfulness reaches the clouds;
Seeing from Heaven above,
The Holy Spirit enshrouds.

Be thou exalted, O God,
Your glory covers the earth;
Above Heaven You enthralled,
How priceless Your total worth.

Your beloved ones delivered,
Salvation by your right hand;
Which calms from being quivered,
Abiding to Your command.

You promise in holiness,
With rejoicing will divide;
Those that will have blessedness,
From those who do not abide.

Who will come to the city,
The city fortified and strong;
The one that shines so pretty,
Where Your children all belong.

Have you not rejected us?
Do you go forth as the host?
Do not cast away as thus,
Please send us Your Holy Ghost.

Please give us help from troubles,
Grant us aid against the foe;
Vain is the man who stumbles,
Please save us from our woe.

For we shall do valiantly,
As You tread on our foes;
Your glory shines gallantly,
As on us Your blessing flows.
