Better Wisdom

Go eat your bread with joy,
Drink your wine with glad heart;
God approves you employ,
His Word as you impart.

Let your garments be white,
Lack no oil on head;
As you stay in the light,
And righteousness be fed.

Enjoy life with your wife,
To whom you truly love;
All the days of your life,
He who gave from above.

Whatever your hands find,
Do it with all your might;
Do it with a clear mind,
So that it is done right.

I saw under the sun,
The race is not too swift;
Because what has begun,
Not able to uplift.

The battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise;
The riches that belong,
Is knowledge in disguise.

Man does not know his time,
Like fish that are taken;
An evil net of crime,
When feeling forsaken.

This wisdom I have seen,
It does seem great to me;
Experience has been,
Giving insight to see.

There was a small city,
With only a few men;
A great king took pity,
Impregnated each hen.

There was a poor wise man,
Wisdom gave the city;
Announced about his plan,
To make it look pretty.

Wisdom is much better,
Than the weapons of war;
But sin makes the debtor,
Be wounded with a scar.
