Once upon a time, but not so very long ago.
I was walking along the sea shore along
with Jesus Christ, the Son of Man.
And the Son of God. He was comforting
my troubled heart and burdened soul.

Once upon a time, but not so very long ago.
As we were walking along the sandy shore,
He told me my salvation's gift was free.
But Satan would try to tempt me, and
The devil would try to deceive me.

Once upon a time, but not so very long ago.
Jesus Christ looked at me and I saw sorrow
in his eyes. My willful disobedient heart
brought sorrow to his very being. But he
told I would someday return, and depart nevermore.

Once upon a time, but not so very long ago,
Jesus Christ and I walked alone. He told
me Satan would try to rob me of the joy of my
salvation. By imprisoning my free born spirt.
But his chains could not longer bind me!

Love in Christ Jesus!
