There shall come forth a shoot,
From Jesse of his stump;
As a branch to bear fruit,
For those were in the slump,

The Spirit of the Lord,
Shall be resting on Him;
While in one accord,
To give spiritual vim.

The Spirit of wisdom,
Also understanding;
Coming from His Kingdom,
The Father commanding.

The Spirit of counsel,
Of knowledge and of fear;
Will be His utensil,
For knowing God is near.

As His delight shall be,
In the fear of the Lord;
Not judge what He shall see,
Decide to what is heard.

Righteousness He shall judge,
Equity for the meek;
As neutral without grudge,
For fairness that they seek.

With the rod of His tongue,
And the breath of His lips;
The wicked shall be flung,
See the fire that grips.

Righteousness as His belt,
Faithfulness gird His reigns;
Pure white robe like a felt,
Compassion through His veins.

The wolf dwells with the lamb,
The leopard with the goat;
The lion with the ram,
To the Lord they devote.

For a child shall lead,
His hand in the snake den;
On the cross He shall bleed,
Will die to rise again.

Not to hurt or destroy,
On His holy mountain;
Eternal life enjoy,
A life giving fountain.
