The Promised Rest

While the promise being left,
Of entering His rest still stands;
Let us fear of possible theft,
If failing to reach His demands.

For Good News came just as to them,
But the Word had no benefit;
Lack of faith causes to condemn,
Not knowing what they inherit.

For all of us who have believed,
He has said and swore in His wrath;
Nothing for them to be received,
Just destruction upon their path.

For He spoke of the seventh day,
That God rested on day seven;
From all His works that we should pray,
Thanking Him as done from Heaven.

For all that was done as its best,
Again, in this passage He said;
If they shall enter in His rest,
They will find themselves become dead.

Since it remains for some to see,
Who formerly have the Good News;
Will fail to enter as to be,
Disobedient in their views.

For He appoints a certain day,
If you hear His voice in your heart;
Adhere to His voice and obey,
Hardening of hearts will depart.

If Joshua had given rest,
The Lord would have never spoken;
A restful day for to invest,
A commandment not be broken.

There remains a Sabbath rest,
For all the people of the Lord;
A day set aside that God blest,
That should not ever be ignored.

Whoever has entered His rest,
Has also rested from his deeds;
Preparing for a week to quest,
And catering to what one needs.
