Although we speak in this way,
We feel sure of better things;
For salvation on that day,
Of what eternal life brings.

For the Lord is not unjust,
In overlooking your deeds;
Because of a love you trust,
Serving the saints of their needs.

So, I want each one of you,
To show the same diligence;
Assurance that hope is true,
Without any negligence.

So, you may not be sluggish.
But through faith no imitators;
Others see us as prudish,
By who are fornicators.

For when God made a promise,
Since there is no one greater;
By whom to swear the justice,
Endowed as our Maker.

Surely the Lord will bless you,
Multiplying by His will;
Through insight to construe,
Inspiring that can instill.

We have patiently waited,
In obtaining the promise;
That some feeling ill-fated,
While on earth no justice.

They swear by something greater,
In all their disputes an oath;
Forsook by the Creator,
Their attitude starts to loath.

We swear by something better,
Confirmation to end strife;
Than standards to the letter,
Able to get on with life.

Show convincingly to heirs,
For the changeless character;
That for everyone shares,
With Christ as an instructor.

For two unchangeable things,
Of which God will never lie;
Because of each promise brings,
With hope that can rely.
