A few of you should be teachers,
For you know that who we do teach;
Will be judged by the out-reachers,
Greater strictness on how they preach.

We all stumble in many ways,
If anyone does not stumble;
They are perfect and never strays,
Always abides and not grumble.

Because they will wear a bridle,
For in their mouth will have a bit;
As their tongue will remain idle,
Their body never throws a fit.

A horse has a bit to obey,
As a method for us to guide;
Ensuring that he will not stray,
To your commands he will abide.

Look at ships as driven by wind,
Are guided by a small rudder;
Ensuring the ship is disciplined,
Not to deviate or shudder.

The tongue is small, yet it will boast,
Of great as well as made-up things;
Big fire set ablaze to host,
Enticement from the sinful brings.

The tongue is fire on the loose,
In a world of unrighteousness;
In confidence tries to seduce,
For mind games with your consciousness.

The entire body to stain,
Sets on fire the course of life;
With hell on earth for causing pain,
Puts others in the midst of strife.

Every kind of beast and bird,
Of reptile and sea creature;
Enabled be trained by a word,
Through the tongue of the right teacher.

These thing ought never to be so,
The same mouth comes blessing and curse;
Because what the righteous should know,
Should never expect to speak perverse.
