By finally revealing secrets
Three decades old
I’m not terrified of the consequences
Backlash
I want to make peace before I die
Leaving behind
No regrets or
Unfinished business.

You can declare
I’m living in a fantasy world
You can deny
Despite the facts hitting you in the face
The experience shaped me
And led me down a dark and uncertain path
For as long as you have
The fickleness and emptiness
Of material possessions to hide behind
Then you’re somehow immune
No one can touch you.

It’s time to man up
Stop making excuses
You can judge everyone else’s actions
As sadistic insanity
While ignoring your own mistakes
Concluding I was young then
Didn’t know any better
No harm or foul
It must bother you
That you thought
You were in the clear
That I wouldn’t find the guts
To bring it to the arena
I don’t need any monetary reward
This ain’t no PR stunt
I’m asking for a confession
Accountability
Face to face.

I’m still here
Proved you wrong
It’s high time you make things right
I have nothing to lose.
