Another soul searching event
Wretched contempt
Out went the invective
In came the hope
Soul isn’t drained
Ready to be filled with joy
Happiness and that elusive serenity
You’ve been praying for
Since the age of reason
And if life isn’t that simple
Or as complex depending on experience
Or self-inflicted pain
And if the feeling of rain upon your skin
Is either heavenly or hated
Or if the sun heals
Or a blinding curse
It doesn’t really matter
What side of the tracks
You were planted
For there are ones that either love you
Don’t care one iota
Or want to take advantage
Via guilt or gas lighting
You can either by a witty commentator
A snickering overdog
Or a fallible victim
Either way you will have to take stock
If not
You will be moored
Mocked
Or an unwilling puppet.
