Daniel knew that despite the circumstances, You are Sovereign and You are working out Your plan for nations and individuals (NLT, 1783). The book of Daniel centers around Your Sovereignty, Lord, which is a profound truth (NLT, 1783). He held fast to his faith in You instead of giving up or giving in (NLT, 1783). You are Sovereign and we can be confident that You are in control despite news reports and personal stress (NLT, 1784). Daniel and his friends are inspiring examples for us of how to live godly lives in a sinful world (NLT, 1784). Evil will be overcome, so we should wait patiently and not give in to the temptations and pressures of the sinful way of life around us (NLT, 1784). Daniel and his friends are examples of dedication and commitment, who determined to serve You regardless of the consequences (NLT, 1784). Because they have a clear purpose in life, they did not give into pressures from an ungodly society (NLT, 1784). Daniel was truthful, persistent in prayer, and disinterested in power for personal glory (NLT, 1784). I need to be relentless in my prayers, maintain my integrity, and be content to serve You wherever You put me (NLT, 1784). You were faithful in the life that You gave Daniel and You delivered him from execution, from a den of lions, and from enemies who hated him (NLT, 1785). You care for Your people and You deal patiently with us (NLT, 1785). The life that You have given Daniel is a picture of the triumph of faith (NLT, 1785). You are Sovereign over all human history, past, present and future (NLT, 1785). At certain times, You allow Your Work to suffer and You are watching over all who trust in You (NLT,1785). Daniel still obeyed Your laws even though he was in a culture that did not honor You (NLT, 1786). When Daniel made up his mind not to defile himself, he was being true to a lifelong determination to do what is right and not to give in to the pressures around him (NLT, 1786). I must resolve to obey You (NLT, 1786). It's easy to resist temptation if I have thought through the convictions You have given me before the temptation arise (NLT, 1786). In Daniel 1:17, You reveal that You gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meaning of vision and dreams (NLT, 1787). Your active interention often comes just when we take a stand for You (NLT, 1787). Without compromising, Daniel found a way to live by Your standards in a culture that did not honor You and He quickly thought of a creative solution that saved his life and the lives of his companions (NLT, 1787). Daniel and his friends learned all they could about their new culture so that they could do their work with excellence and they maintained steadfast allegiance to You while You gave them skill, wisdom, and they learned (NLT, 1787). Daniel and his friends had knowledge and understanding, given to them by You (NLT, 1787). To survive in a foreign culture, we can learn about the culture, achieve excellence in the work that You give us, serve the people, pray for Your help, and maintain Your integrity (NLT, 1787). You specialize in working through us to achieve the impossible (NLT, 1788). Prayer is more effective than panic, which confirms hopelessness and prayer confirms hope in You (NLT, 1789). In Daniel 2:21-23, You confirm that You control the course of world events; You remove kings and set up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light (NLT, 1790). I can look to You for wisdom as You give wisdom freely to all who ask (NLT, 1790). Daniel did not use his success to promote his own self-interests but He thought of others (NLT, 1790). I need to remember the needs of others and I want to point people to You so we can give You the glory (NLT, 1790). There is more to being young than making mistakes and You have given the students more wisdom in their words and actions than the culture realizes (NLT, 1791). Daniel quietly refused to give up his convictions and quiet convictions often earn long-term respect (NLT, 1791). Your Kingdom will never be destroyed and Your Kingdom is indestructible under Your protection (NLT, 1792). Those who trust in You are members of Your Kingdom and are secure in You, Lord (NLT, 1792). The king honored both You and Daniel because Daniel gave you the credit and part of our mission in the world is to show unbelievers what You are like via love and compassion (NLT, 1792). More people will want to know more about You as long as I give you credit for my actions and I am grateful for what You are doing in as well as through me (NLT, 1792). There is great strength in real friendship and it is important to stand with others with whom we share convictions (NLT, 1795). You are above all of those who are above us and You limit the power and authority of all the government, business, and religious leaders in the world (NLT, 1797). You are Sovereign over all of my plans and desires (NLT, 1797). Pride is one of the most dangerous temptations that I face and it's also my biggest sin. I need to humble myself and accept help instead of turning it down. Uncontrolled pride is self-destructive (NLT, 1799). Doing right is my first priority, not gaining power or rewards (NLT, 1801). Daniel was not afraid to tell the truth to the king even though it was not what he wanted to hear (NLT, 1802). I should be just as courageous as Daniel in telling the truth under pressure (NLT, 1802). I need to live by Your standards of just (NLT, 1802). In Daniel 6:4c, You reveal that Daniel was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy (NLT, 1803). Our prayers are usually interrupted by the pressure of our schedules (NLT, 1804). You have ways of delivering Your people in ways none of us can imagine (NLT, 1804). You are the one like a son of man, Messiah, and You used this verse to refer to Yourself (NLT, 1807). Although You may allow persecution to continue for a while, the destiny of Your followers is to possess the Kingdom and be with You forever (NLT, 1807). You are the Prince of princes (NLT, 1810). We know that You are Merciful and Forgiving even though we have rebelled against You (Daniel 9:9 on page 1811). We have not obeyed You, for we have not followed the instructions You gave us through Your servants the prophets (NLT, Daniel 9:10, 1811). While You speak clearly and accurately through Your Word, the Bible, You also speak through preachers as well as teachers and concerned friends (NLT, 1811).
You send help, not because I deserve it, but because You want to show great mercy (NLT, 1812). Trials and persecutions can purify me and I can learn from them (NLT,1819). In this life, You don't have to reveal everything to me and I don't need You to reveal everything to me (NLT, 1819). Faith in You has a rich reward in the life to come (NLT, 1819). Even as a teenager, Daniel determined to remain faithful to You in the land of captivity (NLT, 1819).
