The stoic exterior
Masks an uncertainty
A doubt that I can function normally
In this state we call reality.

There’s no question
I need your support
Cherish your loyalty
Lean on your shoulder
The effervescent smile
That provided warmth to a soul
That has grown colder every agonizing day.

I’ve failed to live up to my obligations consistently
I do have a conscience
I need to improve my game
The blame squarely on my shoulders
Where it belongs
As I try to live in integrity.
