Felt like a counterfeit
So much to offer
But barren beneath the bushel
Letting them dictate my lack of opinion
Treasures from the heart
Feeling useless
So inhibited
As I was thrusting the shiv
Into my soul
No more, I say.

Some days, the confidence lags
And can’t visualize
What needs to be accomplished
Look back to the latter
While climbing the ladder
And gain strength by each
Waking moment for the mind
Becomes clearer
The gait becomes erect
Present can be lived fully
Cancelling all of the debt.

Look to the sky and smile
Close your eyes
Breathe deeply
And secure a peaceful place
Happiness isn’t a mystery
That can’t be solved
Clues are laid out in succession
I can’t blame others for
My self-imposed hibernation
As I’m finally back on track.
