Tragedy into triumph
Turning those naysayers
Into sheep
Weeping in their insolence
Humbled by their fate
That was destined
When they were tossed from the gate
Believing they were the ultimate clairvoyants
But predictions are futile
When you have malice in your heart.

Now, that you’ve reached the Promised Land
Standing firmly upon Holy Grail
Don’t ever get complacent
Or pretend that you’ve got it made
Behind a falsehood of bluster
That covering up of shame
You think you’re perfect
No, a fallible human being.

So, be proud of others achievements
When they’ve earned it on merit and toil
Always question those that got a free pass
Or pretended to be like their potential benefactors
Just to get ahead
Surely you could play the game
But be prepared to walk around
Like some stoned asleep zombie
Just be aware and don’t ever forget
The abyss is self-created.
