Blank screen constantly reliving
Inside of a nostalgic dream
What was sacred and true
Has descended into rust
Dust and dirt covering
The make shift grave
Left with memories
Pure, beautiful and
A sadness that one can’t move ahead
When living in the past.

If I’m torn between
Living in integrity and forgiving
For social harmony
I guess I take life oh so seriously
Refusing to live spontaneously
Without a safety net
Foundation
As I choose to remember the experiences
With the clearest perspective.

However, I’m not in control of
What the Lord has in store
A reason, a purpose
And I’m far too old to rebel
For if I’m needed
I surely will answer the call
That I’m certain of
Curtain hasn’t been closed yet.
