I will never forget
Yet the question hauntingly remains
Is whether to forgive?
For I see no need in
Participating in ego on display
If I can accept the blame for my sins
My numerous shortcomings
Why aren’t they held to the same standard?

You can explain it away
On the ignorance of youth
You didn’t know any better
I asked for it
Any excuse will do
But I will offer no respect
And make it my solemn vow
To never be stuck suffocating
In the same room as you.

You saw an awkward, uncertain boy
And your primal instincts came to the surface
The eyes gazed into are not of a narcissist fawned over
But a damn disgrace to humanity
You can best believe that you will receive your comeuppance
Cause all the material wealth and possessions
Will never buy you a peace of mind.

While I struggle from time to time
I, unfortunately for you
Didn’t take the easy way out
Either by own hand or cowardly revenge
With his grace
I hope and pray to be a constant, nagging reminder
That you are not who you appear to be
And for a conceited and convinced fool
Surely that must be hell on earth.
