Body blows
Mind games
They question your sanity
For you refuse to participate in their game
So you dig in further
Stubborn to the core
Recognize me for the successes
Instead of harping upon my failures
And while I try to walk
Avoiding carefully all the land mines
You placed meticulously into the ground
The latter is not hallowed
It never was
You’re just another tool to be used
And whether you wake up
To face the fate
That can’t be avoided
I pause
Reflect
And declare
I’m not one to answer such a question
Though I may have dropped hints
Along the way.

Do what you can
I have faith you will
To tray and cast me out completely
I’m there mentally
And don’t worry your empty head
I will not go out in a thunderous glory
Or an idiotic act of ignorance
Only gives you far too much credit
For my so called demise
For you can cry wolf
Huddle in a clique of closed minds
You can believe you’re life
Should be an uninterrupted extension
Of the first act
But I don’t pine for the past
I’m ensconced in the discourse
Beyond small talk
Opinionated
Motivated
But never satisfied
In such a fruitless exercise
Of being coddled
And stroked insufferably.
