This desire to self-destruct
I pray goes away
I’m tired of struggling
To find peace
Having to rely on illusions
And myths to get me through
And it pisses me off to no end
Why the lack of courage?
Why do I fold at the first sign of trouble?
I’ve been through far worse
Yet I fell into the darkness
The enslavery of delusional thinking.

Each day that ekes by
I’m sinking further into the mire
I will drown completely
If I don’t work within faith
For I apologize Lord
For disappointing you again
But I’m not giving up
I refuse to die prematurely
For a brainwashed fix
Life is a gift
Very precious indeed
I’ve taken it for granted
The ultimate tragedy
There is a better way
I will achieve it
Best believe it
Inside mind, heart and soul.
